Hi.

When I was about 16 I volunteered on a website about Ultima Online. It was all the rage back then, doing work for free. Luckily I wasn't bad enough at web design to gross out the people who owned the network the site was on, so they hired me full time a few years later and flew me a few thousand miles away from home to work for them.

I was 19. I was terrified and very excited.

I worked there for almost a decade, on almost every kind of project you could imagine.

Web design. Advertising. Flash ads. Game UI. Game design. Print ads. 3D art. Concept art. Illustration. I even carved some trade show props out of industrial insulating foam. That was messy.

But enjoyable. It was a tremendous learning experience. Then I was laid off and had to leave. So I moved a few thousand miles away again and got a new job doing User Interface Design on a video game called Firefall.

I've learned a whole lot more. I'm looking for more things to learn now, and hoping to make a contribution to something amazing along the way.

(The subliminal message you should be getting from the photo back there, is that I'm grounded)
